The Bible and medicine

Having studied medicine at Glasgow University Dr Drew Smith obtained his degree in 1989 and, after a short time in various specialties, decided to pursue a career in anaesthetics. He is now a consultant anaesthetist at Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Here Drew looks at the Bible in the light of modern medical practice.

This talk was given at the Byre Theatre conference room in St Andrews on 28 July 2009. It is part two of a three part series under the theme, "Bible reliability". An introductory reading was taken from Deuteronomy 4 v 1-14.
